About Us
Under the auspices of The Jewish Theological Seminary, Ramah is the camping arm of Conservative Judaism. Ramah Day Camp provides a religious, educational camp experience designed to inculcate young people with the values, philosophy, rituals, and practices of Judaism in all aspects of everyday life. Our camp forms a micro-society fostering social, intellectual, and religious growth. Along with athletics and the arts, campers and staff receive meaningful Jewish education in a context that promotes an enduring sense of belonging, friendship, and joy.
Ramah Day Camp opened it's doors in the summer of 1999. Renting space from the owners of the prestigious Circle M Day Camp, whose directors had chosen to retire, Ramah began the journey of integrating the best of Circle M's philosophy with the spirit of Ramah. No matter what our numbers are, we maintain that small-camp feeling and are able to create a unique Jewish camping experience each summer.
The national Ramah network includes three day camps operating with great success in the Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia areas, as well as seven overnight camps and Israel Programs. We are happy to be the newest part of the Ramah family.
