RAMAH DAY CAMP: BEST DAY EVER.

Over and over and over.

EVERY CAMPER FEELS AT HOME HERE.

Inhibitions, not so much.

Nestled in a secluded, wooded section of Wheeling, IL, Ramah Day Camp offers all the ingredients for an amazing summer: nurturing staff, eclectic activities, a deep connection to Jewish values and traditions and a warm, family-like atmosphere.  It’s a place where every camper can be totally themselves. And have a great time while they’re doing it.

Why Camp Ramah

Programs by Grade

MAKING EVERY DAY AMAZING FOR CAMPERS OF EVERY AGE.

Ramah Day Camp offers age-tailored programming for campers as young as entering pre-K all the way up through entering eighth graders. Additionally, ninth and tenth graders can join us as counselors-in-training. Our full summer session runs eight weeks from mid-June through mid-August. Campers can also opt to spend just the first or second four-week session with us. Whatever their age, and however much time they spend with us, they can count on jam-packed days. And a fun-filled summer.

Pre-K and Kindergarten- Chaverim

This warm and welcoming program offers a high camper to staff ratio to ensure that our youngest campers get all the help and support they need as they move through the camp day participating in many different activities and learning their way around camp.

1st Grade – Amitzim

New and returning campers become familiar with camp traditions, songs and cheers as they enjoy all that camp has to offer.

2nd Grade – Bonim

Bonim are the oldest of our youngest campers! They expand on their swim, sports, art and tefillah skills and take more active roles in camp activities.

3rd Grade – Giborim

As the youngest of our oldest campers, Giborim can shape aspects of their camp experience by choosing activities to match their interests.

4th Grade – Kochavim

Kochavim build on their choice of electives based on their interests. The focus shifts from individual groups to the larger grade level group as a community develops and long-lasting friendships begin to form.

5th & 6th Grade – Gar-Hal

Gar-Hal, our nickname for the Garinim (5th) and Halutzim (6th grade) program, is a special summer filled with daily challenges, skill building, and leadership opportunities.  Gar-Hal leaves camp one day each week for special field trips.

OUR ACTIVITIES

WE GO WIDE ON ACTIVITIES.

And deep on fun.

There’s no such thing as a dull day at Ramah Day Camp. There’s hardly even a dull second. That’s because any given day might find a camper participating in gardening, outdoor cooking or the low ropes course.  Or maybe they’ll play sports or work on an arts and crafts project or learn Israeli songs and dances.  Of course, no summer is complete without plenty of time in our two heated pools, which our campers enjoy twice a day (weather-permitting). And no matter where a camper chooses to focus, we always stay focused on fun.
