TRANSPORTATION

ROUND-TRIP BUS SERVICE

staffed by Ramah bus counselors.

Our buses are driven by licensed, professional drivers, and staffed by Ramah bus counselors who keep the campers comfortable and safe during the ride.

A bus counselor gets off the bus to greet each camper in the morning, and helps the camper get settled on the bus. After that, the fun begins! The same supervision is provided on the ride home.

what we offer

Door-to-Door Bus Service

  • Door-to-door transportation is provided for families that live within Ramah Day Camp’s bus boundaries and are accessible by school bus. Boundaries include many of the northern Chicago suburbs and are subject to change. For questions, email the Transportation Coordinator. Families that are outside of bus service areas are welcome to meet at central pickup/drop off points. Campers will not be able to ride any bus other than their assigned bus.

Centralized Group Stops

  • Chicago – one bus stop is located east of Clark Street and another is located west of Clark Street. Exact locations will be determined in the months leading up to camp.
  • Skokie/Evanston – the bus stop is at Ezra Habonim Niles Township Jewish Congregation on Dempster Street in Skokie
  • Oak Park/River Forest – this bus stop is at West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest.

Bus Routes

Approximate pickup times are located in the bus information emails which will be sent around June 9 and July 12. In the afternoon, buses depart from camp by 3:15 pm. Call the camp office with any questions or email our Transportation Coordinator, Laura Baruch Sherman, at bus@ramahday.com.
