SPECIALTY PROGRAMS
SHA’AR CHICAGO
An opt-in Hebrew immersion program open to campers entering grades K-3.
Campers in Sha’ar (Gateway) engage in the full camp schedule, including swimming, sports, arts and crafts, and more – learning to understand and speak Hebrew by listening to and speaking with their counselors and peers. All aspects of the camp day are conducted in Hebrew from the very first day, giving children an opportunity to gain proficiency as they participate in the myriad of activities that make camp so magical!
Select ‘Sha’ar Chicago Program’ during enrollment. An additional $400 fee applies.
RAMAH DAY CAMP INCLUSION
Ramah Day Camp welcomes campers with a diverse range of abilities and support needs. We celebrate campers’ unique strengths while offering individualized accommodations, behavioral supports, and/or one-on-one staffing for those who may require it. To discuss your camper’s specific needs and accommodations, please contact Assistant Director Dina Greenberg.
BUS FEES
Round-trip bus fees are included in the cost of tuition for campers located in the Chicago suburbs. A $640 surcharge will be applied for campers located in the City of Chicago and a $600 surcharge will be applied for campers located in Oak Park because we charter specialty coach buses for those areas. For more information about busing, please see our transportation page.
CAMP RAMAH IN WISCONSIN JOINT PROGRAMS
We offer a variety of joint programs for campers who would like to spend part of the summer at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin and part of the summer at Ramah Day Camp. Contact enroll@ramahwisconsin.com for more information.
PAYMENT POLICIES
Payment Methods
For your convenience, Ramah Day Camp accepts checks, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and eCheck. eCheck is the preferred method of payment. All credit card payments will incur a 3% credit card fee. Registration cannot be processed until past-due balances are reconciled.
Camper Fees
By submitting your camper’s application, you are accepting responsibility for payment of the full tuition for your camper’s enrollment. Occasionally, prior to camp, it is determined that Ramah Day Camp is not the right fit for a camper. If this should happen, the family will receive a full refund of any fees paid. All camp fees must be paid in full by April 1 or the camper family must be on an established payment plan.
Payment Plans
Camper families have four payment options:
- Pay in full at time of registration by ACH/eCheck or credit card
- Pay in three equal installments: Families who choose this option will be charged by credit card or ACH in three installments on the first Wednesday of November 2025, January 2026 and April 2026. Payments will begin the month after you register (starting in November).
- Pay in equal monthly installments: Families who choose this option will be charged equal monthly payments by credit card or ACH. Payments will begin in November (or the month after you register for those registering in November or later). The final payment will be in April 2026.
- Scholarship assistance: If applying for financial aid, a $400 monthly payment per child via ACH or credit card is required until the camp scholarship is awarded. Once the scholarship award is applied to the camp balance, the payment plan will automatically change to equal monthly installments based on the scholarship award on the first Wednesday of each month, with the final payment in June 2026. A $750 deposit is still required for this payment plan. To be eligible for a scholarship, the $400 monthly payment plan per child must be in place. If a family does not apply for financial assistance by January 1 (or within three weeks if registering after January 1), the plan will automatically be changed to a monthly payment plan.
Cancellations
- The deposit is fully refundable until January 1, 2026. Deposits are non-refundable after January 1, 2026
- All fees are non-refundable after March 1, 2026
Financial Aid
We know that the decision to attend Ramah Day Camp is an investment in your camper’s future. We are committed to making sure that every family that wants to have a Ramah experience is able to do so.
Camp Ramah families in need of financial assistance may apply to Ramah Day Camp for financial aid. We strive to make our financial assistance process simple, accessible and supportive.
TO APPLY: Our summer 2026 financial assistance application will be available in the fall. Ramah Day Camp uses the FACTS system, a secure third-party application to collect and validate the information provided.
AWARDS: Our Financial Aid Committee individually reviews each application to make an award decision. Completed applications received by December 1, 2025 will receive a response by January 15, 2026.
Applications submitted after December 1, 2025 will be reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis.
ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE RESOURCES: We also encourage Ramah families to seek financial assistance from the following resources:
- Your synagogue
- Your local Jewish community (via the Jewish Federation, Jewish Family and Children Services and/or Jewish Vocational Services)
If you have any questions about the financial assistance process, please be in touch with our Director of Operations, Robin Anderson or by phone at (312) 690-8326.
